  1. Thank the person that awarded it to you and list a link back to the blogger
  2. Tell 7 things about yourself
  3. Pay it forward by sending it to your favorite recently found new bloggers
  4. Contact the blogger that you have awarded and make them aware

A few things about me

  • Well, I have always loved animals.. We had a pom spitz mix growing up and now our adopted fluffbug Chewie my fluffster.
  • I've always loved cooking, baking, finding and creating.
  • and been and still am a sucker for emotional stories..
  • I've been a part of SPCA or some Nature Club through high school and then got a bit busy with undergrad and grad school and career and work. I worked as a software developer for 4 years, and then as luck would have it, changed to something that I really love to, bake, cook, foster and volunteer.
  • We are transitioning into an organic and vegan diet. Check out some of my creations and recipes at my food blog and also a more detailed about me here. This blog is more about pets, adoptions, trainings, and related causes.
  • am slowly getting involved in animal activism and the politics around it and it feels good to make even a tiny difference! Read more about it on my personal blog (more about articles, research and veganism) or friend me on facebook (more of updates about helping dog adoptions, petitions and causes against abuse and cruelty all over the world, and make them tiny differences)! (Be sure to tell me that you are a fellow blogger or how you found me so I can accept your friend request.. :)
  • I love funky nail polishes and now have a collection of them funky colors! There are some featured on some bread pictures on my food blog!

  • If I could, I would pass it back to Carrie at All things Dog Blog! Her blog is a great collection of all things dog, training, giveaways, vet common questions and more!
Passing the Award on to the following bloggers in no particular order
Heres a video of him getting tangled up..

Fluffster loves to carry his tennis ball back from his walk at the park with clear focus of taking the ball home and hiding it. He gets all antsy since he has to wait for the train to get home, and in the process winds himself on the pole! :). Hubbs took this video from his phone and of course got him out of the stuck situation!

Today is also the Saturday Pet Blog Hop. Have a great woofing Weekend!

Casper is great with other dogs and seems to play well with others. Casper is a total love bug and just wants the companionship of a human!

The Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation (UAAF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless animals. UAAF is an active participant in the No More Homeless Pets in Utah coalition and is working closely with other coalition members to help end the euthanasia of homeless pets. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely entirely on public support for our continued success.
UAAF believes that every animal deserves a home regardless of age or disability. We specialize in the rescue and rehabilitation of 'special needs' animals including orphaned newborns, senior animals, animals with behavioral issues, injured animals, and animals with ongoing health problems. Since our founding in September 2002, we have successfully placed hundreds of these deserving animals into loving homes.

Adoptable Pets! All sweet dogs at the Seattle Animal Shelter

Featured above is Pluto, He is a friendly, sophisticated and easy going guy who would love to find my forever home - a place where he can relax and spend lots of quality time with his human friends.
He is always happy to 'sit', 'lay down', 'let's go' or go to my 'bed' for a treat and working on learning more tricks like 'leave it' and 'wait'. He is housebroken and goes to the back door when I want to go out, or go for a walk.

Adoptable Pets! Fur Baby Rescue, Los Angeles,CA

FurBaby Rescue Fur Baby is an adoption agency that works with local non-profit organizations and city shelters to save animals from euthanasia. When you adopt from Fur Baby, you are saving a life!

    From their Petfinder page
We take pet adoptions very seriously. Please remember that pets live for 10-20 years. Also, pets cost money and need your love and attention. Some of our pets have specials needs and we try to match pet to owner so that EVERYONE is happy. We do try to make the adoption process easy and we're super nice. With that being said, please contact us and maybe we have the right pet for you! Our adoptions require application, home check and adoption donation. We also have a network of "rescue friends" that we think do good work, so if we don't have the right dog for you, we'll point you in the right direction."

The best place to find a pet in LA are the county and city shelters. They usually have 100s to 500s dogs and cats, usually overfull, highest kill rate and just about all breeds( lots of tiny chihuahuas to big purebred GSDs, Labs), puppies to seniors. A lot of rescues around LA, pull pets from the shelters. Some rescues in our state(WA) pull some each week too and there is still such a high pet dump rate!
If you are in California or close by, and want a pet, please adopt one of the thousands passing through the shelters each month.!

    Chewie the Fluffster

Chewie is our resident Fluffster. He is a social butterfly of the building and Belltown. Everyone knows him by name! I also realized that he can also be the social bee and help this blog's pollen along! So he gets his own post!

    Chewie's bio in his words..
I was left at a shelter by my previous family and then a rescue picked me up. My previous family did not have time for me anymore and left me home 14-16 hours a day. Thank goodness, they realized that they should give me up so someone else could adopt me. When I met my mom and dad, my hair was a smelly matty mess and I was loving but a little skittish and snappy. But they looked beyond all that and took me home! The rest of course is history..
I am the cutest cuddle bug who loves to meet all people and loves all the petting and massages. You can find me in the Sculpture Park in Seattle most evenings! Drop by to say Hi!

    Featured above Chico

Chewie and Me are stopping by San Francisco today and looking at Grateful Dogs Rescue. Check out our earlier stops at Portland OR and Udaipur, India

Grateful Dogs Rescue, a non-profit organization, was founded 20 years ago by Michelle Parris, a former SF Animal Care & Control volunteer. She made it her mission to rescue "un-adoptable dogs," i.e. dogs not made available for adoption because they needed some medical help or some behavioral training. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these special-needs dogs until a loving home is found. To learn more about Grateful Dogs Rescue, please visit website at

Check out all the adoptable dogs at .To read about the rescue's adoption process please see
